Hi there, when I tried to download, from RareFile, it says “Guest/Non-Registred visitors can download…up to 350MB” and “Free Registred visitors can download…500MB”. However, your website says free and premium users can download up to 3GB? Please help!

Max, there’s some files to media that are missing. I can’t remember them all, but The Essential Bruce Springsteen doesn’t have a file connected to its link and The Pretty Reckless’s Other Worlds only has a 22 byte file so that’s not the file that’s supposed to be there. Also, The Essential Kinks doesn’t have a file neither.

I use Jdownloader and have been experiencing this issue, the download will not start after the count down, resets to 4 minutes and afterwards it keeps cycling and rarefile counts it as a download and subtracts my data allowance. so, I found out the problem, it is my upgraded modem that detects rarefile as not secure and blocks it. I turned off advanced protection and it worked.

I found a solution for my problem. It was my antivirus program. The solution I found was to turn my antivirus off and online threat prevention off. You can also add the website to be excepted from scan, but it does not work most of the time. The only solution I found was turning everything off on my antivirus program. I never had issues before with Rarefile. IDM was stopping at 99.5 or 99.99% and now it does finish 100%. I am able to download using google now after doing this too…

My solution… do what the above website shows and turning it off my antivirus program. That is a pain to do this every time I want to download something and put it back. Never had issues before.

I am also having issues downloading files from rarefile now where I never had issues before. I did what Max suggest and follow http://www.rarefile.net/pages/securityalert.html… it asks me if I want to keep/save the “unsecure” file and I press yes. It downloads the file, but after the file is done downloading, it only saves as a 12kb file. I tried several files now and I tried using IDM and does the same thing. I have a paid account with Rarefile. Please help!!!

With the latest updates, Web Browsers now perceive sites that do not use HTTPs/SSL and downloads from these sites as insecure and suspicious. And with the standard settings, it does not allow the download process, it blocks it. You need to change this setting manually.

@Craig, Try using different locations. I found that many of my VPN’s sites have blacklists that block connections. In my case, as cited above, I had to find one that doesn’t block ‘allyoulike’ and another that doesn’t block rarefile. It depends on what data centers (they may use different blacklists) your VPN uses in different cities. My research (I only did enough to get my connection working) indicates this is a blacklist problem and not a DNS problem. YMMV!

Pretty much every attempt to access anything gives me the file not found page. I tried turning off my VPN and firewall to no avail. Would love to sign up but can’t seem to figure out how. Any suggestions?

Over the last few weeks every file I try to download, and I’ve tried quite a few, gets blocked by both Chrome and Firefox as being “Dangerous” and will not download. I have been using AllYouLike for years have never had any problems.
Is this a problem with “AllYouLike” or “Rarefile” or something else?
Obviously I won’t download anything that has been flagged as containing malware.

Hi All,
further to my message yesterday, if I use a VPN and pretend to be outside the UK, all my visual and functional issues at AYL are cured.

Not ideal and I don’t see why my UK ISP would be doing this. If it’s somehow related to the recent implementation of Age Restriction to Porn etc. then it’s been done in a very heavy handed way and seems totally inappropriate.

Of course, the Adult/Porn content at AYL may have flagged the site up as requiring access regulation but that shouldn’t be causing issues for other content or image hosting for some posts…

I hope this isn’t some Govt level nationwide access restriction rather than just ISP level. If it is, it’s a sad state of affairs and possibly shows that the UK is slowly becoming more and more restricted/censored.

Looks like I’ll be needing a VPN account with high/unlimited data for future downloading.

Bummer…

Hi,
not sure if this is related but something that just started today.

I can download files via rarefile. They appear to complete successfully via my Downlaod Manager. However, when I attempt to unzip them I get the following Error Message: “The Archive is either in unknown format or damaged”.

I’ve never had any issues before and haven’t updated WinRAR recently.

Any suggestions?

I’ve been having problems with files downloading around 90% then stalling, then it restarts, it might complete the second time or stall at the same point. This has been happening a lot for weeks now. No problems anywhere else. It seems to have started when the counters were messed with. Any help would be appreciated.

I use a VPN, Private Internet Access. In a strange twist, most VPN locations won’t connect to rarefile.net but the one I found that does won’t connect to allyoulike.com! So I shuffle back and forth between locations. LOL.

For those that have an ISP that uses Cloudflare.com as their DNS provider. Change your DNS. Cloudflare is actively blocking the site.
Rarefile is now working for me I have Ziply fiber and they use Cloudflare
