Hi Max. Firstly thanks for doing a great job with this website and making available some wonderful software. I tried installing windows 8.1 after extracting the files from the downloads. It however gives this message,

“Use the other installation disc that says 64-bit. When you insert it, Windows Setup will restart automatically.”

What would you suggest I do. I’m on a 64 bit windows 7 ultimate sp1 os.

Sir, When tried to install from USB Drive, I am not able to install and following remarks appear on the screen ” Setup has failed to validate the key “. Please help in sorting this problem.

I believe the install.esd file is the one over 4gb, where the MS one is 2.7Gb.
Would switching these two still work & provide a Pre-Activated Version?

Max,
To install Win8.1 using UEIF with Secure Boot in the BIOS, the USB has to be formatted “GPT Partition for UEIF” and “FILE SYSTEM FAT32” to be recognized.
With RUFUS u can do that.

That works for a standard Microsoft Win8.1.ISO, but this Win8.1 contains a file larger then 4GB which cannot be copied to the USB using the Fat32 file system selection in RUFUS.
What file is over 4GB in this ISO, & can this file be removed from the ISO and still work?

Max, I’m getting a “Error: ISO image extraction failure” message using Rufus, a USB stick and the ISO image, even Magic ISO can’t extract the ISO, any ideas?

The downloads of 32 bit version says there is a CRC error. so not able to extract and merge. what to do ?
